Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal, a friendly representative from Manaslu Trek will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. This marks the beginning of your Mustang Tiji Festival Trek adventure, offering a smooth and comfortable start to your journey in the Himalayan region.

Day 04: Kathmandu to Pokhara (200km)

After having an early morning breakfast and checking out of the hotel, you will embark on a scenic drive to Pokhara. The journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara takes you through the beautiful hills and valleys of Nepal, covering a distance of approximately 200 km. Typically, this route takes around 6-7 hours to cover by road. The drive offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, green forests, and terraced fields, making it a popular route for both locals and tourists alike. You can stop at various viewpoints and small towns along the way to get a taste of Nepalese culture and hospitality. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you can take a stroll or go boating on the famous Fewa Lake. Spend a peaceful overnight stay at your hotel in Pokhara.

Day 05: Pokhara City Tour

Very early in the morning, drive to Sarankot for the sunrise view.

  • Sarangkot is located on a hilltop about 5 km west of the city of Pokhara. It offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountain Range, including the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). It is a popular spot for paragliding and is also known for its sunrise and sunset views.
  • Devi's fall also known as Patale Chango, is a waterfall located around 2 km southwest of the city of Pokhara, Nepal. The Pardi Khola stream, which disappears underground and emerges on the other side of a tunnel-like gorge, is what creates the magnificent waterfall.
  • Gupteshwor Cave is a limestone cave located across from Devi's fall in Pokhara, Nepal. The cave is around 3 km from the city center and is a popular tourist attraction. The cave is believed to have been formed millions of years ago and is named after Lord Shiva, one of the Hindu deities.
  • World Peace Pagoda, also known as Shanti Stupa, is a Buddhist monument located on top of Ananda Hill in Pokhara, Nepal. The Nipponzan-Myhji Buddhist order constructed it, and 1999 saw its opening. The pagoda is designed to promote world peace and harmony and is one of the 80 peace pagodas that have been built around the world.

Day 06: Pokhara to Lumbini (203km)

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you will embark on a 4-hour drive from Pokhara to Lumbini, located in the western region of Nepal. Along the way, you will stop in Tansen for lunch, but dinner will be served upon arrival in Lumbini. Upon checking in at the hotel, you will have some free time to relax before starting the tour. The tour will commence in the 'New Tourist' village, where you will visit the World Peace Pagoda and museum. This complex is part of a master plan to introduce Buddhism and purify the mind through a monastic zone and features monasteries of Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism spread across the canon. Next, you will visit the Maya Devi Temple, which houses the 'Marker Stone,' the Statue of the Nativity Scene, and ruins of old temple walls dating from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD. The Asoka Pillar still stands, with inscriptions describing his visit to the birthplace of Buddha.

Day 07: City Tour in Lumbini

On this day, you will drive to Tilaurakot, Gotihawa, Kudan, Niglihara, and Sagarhawa to visit various religious and archaeological sites. Tilaurakot is the ancient Kapilavastu, the capital of Shakyas, where Buddha spent his first 29 years. King Suddhodana specifically constructed the Kudan (Nigrodharma Park) for the accommodation of Buddha and his followers. Kudan is where Buddha's father received him after his access to enlightenment. Gotihawa is the birthplace of Krakuchanda Buddha, and Niglihawa is where Kanakmuni Buddha was born. Finally, you will visit Sagarhawa, which features archaeological findings and is known as the "place of the massacre of the Shakyas." After the tour, you will return to Lumbini and spend the night there.

Day 08: Lumbini to Sauraha (176km)

You can drive from Lumbini to Sauraha, which is approximately 176 kilometers away and takes around 5 hours to reach. The road from Lumbini to Sauraha is generally in good condition, and you can hire a private vehicle or take a public bus to make the journey. Along the way, you will be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Terai region of Nepal. Once you reach Sauraha, you can explore the town and the nearby Chitwan National Park, which is famous for its diverse flora and fauna.

Day 09: Jungle Safari Activities

On this day, you will participate in a full day of jungle activities in Sauraha, which includes:

  • Crocodile Safari: You can take a boat ride along the Rapti or Narayani River to observe crocodiles in their natural habitat. The Rapti River flows through Chitwan National Park and is home to a significant population of crocodiles.
  • Elephant Safari: You can enjoy a unique elephant ride through the lush jungle and grasslands of Chitwan National Park, which is home to rare and endangered species like one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, and Asian elephants.
  • Jungle Walk: You can take a guided jungle walk through the park to explore its natural beauty and wildlife, including exotic birds, reptiles, and various mammals.

Along the way, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the countryside, and you may also stop at some of the towns and villages to explore the local culture and traditions. Once you reach Kathmandu, you can check in to your accommodation and rest for the day, or you can explore the city and its many attractions.

Day 11: Transfer to Kathmandu International airport for departure

Today, we will transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for our departure. After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will gather our belongings and make our way to the airport. We will ensure that we reach the airport well in time to complete all the necessary formalities and board our flight. Before we bid adieu to this enchanting country, take one last look at the breathtaking views of the Himalayas and take a moment to appreciate the warm hospitality and kindness of the Nepalese people.
