Manaslu region is at the Gorkha district towards the east of the Annapurna region. It is in the North-Western direction from Kathmandu valley. Trekking in the Manaslu region initially kicks off from Soti Khola or Arughat in the Gorkha district. Arughat is about 6-7 hours of drive from Kathmandu and is the official gateway of Manaslu trek. Trekking in the Manaslu region encompasses several tribal villages and extends up to the Annapurna region. Manaslu Conservation Area offers a great site of Bio and Wildlife diversity as it extends large with an area of 1,663 km2 (642 Sq. mi). Trekking in the Manaslu region offers a fantastic view of great Manaslu Himal (8,156m). Manaslu Himal extends up to several parts of Annapurna and also is the eighth largest mountain in the world.
